§ 46-1. Additional homestead exemption for persons 65 years of age or older

  • In accordance with section 6(f), Article VII of the Florida Constitution and F.S. § 196.075, as amended, the town commission hereby authorizes an additional homestead exemption of $50,000.00 commencing with the year 2007 for any person who has legal or equitable title to real estate and maintain on it the permanent residence of such owner, who has attained age 65, and whose household income does not exceed $24,214.00 for the 2007 tax year and adjusted annually thereafter.

Ord. No. 2007-06, adopted May 29, 2007, repealed the former § 46-1, and enacted a new § 46-1 as set out herein. The former § 46-1 pertained to additional homestead exemption for persons 65 years of age or older and derived from Ord. No. 2000-04, §§ I—VI, 3-14-00.
